We believe
that even though we have been called by God to this ministry and are serving
faithfully, our success or failure is largely determined by prayer. We
pray for our own ministry and our own family, but your prayers will also
help. If you would like to pray for us, here are some specific areas and
items of concern:
FAMILY
- Please
pray that we will be protected from evil and from harm. Especially for
our children, Lindsey and Jaden.
- Please
pray for our health and safety. We feel as safe as anyone, but it's
so easy to get sick or hurt and it's very possible that any sort of
accident or illness could permanently end our work here in the Philippines.
- Lindsey
is finishing 4th grade and Jaden is finishing 2nd grade. They will finish
their school years while on furlough, so please pray for them and Lenae.
- Pray for
our 2008 furlough. We will be traveling a lot. Pray that we will be
safe and that the Lord will provide extra money for the large expense
of being in the States for five months.
- Pray that
we will be able to adopt a little girl named Kye. We have begun the
process, but it is a very long, difficult, and expensive venture.
PHILIPPINE
COLLEGE OF MINISTRY
- Pray for
Steve as he leads the college as President. Pray for wisdom, understanding,
and vision for the future.
- Pray for
a good close to this year (March), and a good beginning to the next
(June 16).
- Pray that
the students will grow in the likeness of Christ, will honor God in
all that they do, and will study well.
- Please
pray for our professors: Crisanta Santos (Christian Education), Francis
Bagni (Bible, Ministry, Dean of Students), Roger Tare (Music), Myla
Escaño (English, General Education).
- Please
pray for our staff: Jun and Deli Ibarra (Dorm and Facilities Manager),
Joezer Daelo (Assistant Dorm and Facilities Manager), Melissa Guillermo
(Food Services Manager).
CHURCH
PLANTING
The
MidCity Church - Pastor: Conrad Garcia (wife, Leonee)
- Please
pray that MidCity will continue to be effective in evangelizing Baguio
City.
- That the
members will grow in their faith and use their spiritual gifts in the
ministry of the church.
- That the
members will continue to grow in their financial giving.
- That Satan
will be unsuccessful in using personal issues to distract Pastor Conrad
from his calling as the pastor of MidCity.
Valley
Christian Church - Pastor: Jonathan Villagracia, Worship Leader: Liezl
Villagracia (wife of Pastor Jonathan)
- Please
pray that VCC will grow beyond 80 Sunday attendance.
- That they
will be effective in evangelizing the professional community in La Trinidad.
- That the
commitment of the members will begin to be manifested through financial
giving to the church.
- Pray that
the Lord will provide money for land for the church's long-term stability.
Rock
Hill Community Church - Pastor: Karol Dondo, Associate Pastor: Delon Dueñas

- Pray for
these young and inexperienced pastors as they work in Santo Rosario.
- Pray for
Karol and his family. His mother died just before Christmas, 2007.
- Pray that
they will be faithful and will fulfill their commitment to the community.
- Pray that
the Lord will open the hearts of the community to the Gospel and that
the pastors will be effective in reaching out to them.
Ambangeg
Christian Church - Pastors: Alvin Valdez, Ermin Dagdag -
- Pray for
endurance for the pastors as they live and serve in this very remote
place.
- Pray that
they will be effective in reaching the community for Christ.
- Pray that
they will be protected from the Evil One, who has already attacked this
young church several times.
CHRISTIAN
ACADEMY OF BAGUIO
- Please
pray that God will send good teachers for CAB. For the 2008-2009 school
year (which begins August 11), we need an administrator and four teachers
for Grades 1-8.
- Please
pray for the Executive Board - for wisdom and guidance as they lead
the school. Steve is a Board member.
STEVE
AND LENAE
- Please
pray that God will use Steve to effectively lead these churches to grow
and be established as autonomous congregations.
- Pray that
Steve's decisions concerning these congregations will be Christ's decisions.
- Pray also
that Steve will correctly discern his role and faithfully fulfill it
when helping to resolve the frequent conflicts that occur in the college,
churches, and CAB.
- Please
pray that Lenae will find the correct balance between teaching at CAB
and being home with our children.
